In order to begin your career in real estate you will be required by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulations (DBPR) to meet certain requirements. Once these requirements have been met you will be able to list, auction, sell, buy, manage, lease or exchange all types of real estate such as residential, commercial, and industrial properties for others. WHERE TO START?
To be eligible to be licensed you must:
- Be 18 years of age or older
- Have a high school diploma or GED
- Have a Social Security number
- You do not need to be a Florida resident

AFTER PASSING THE STATE EXAM:
Once you have passed your state exam you will be eligible to perform the services of real estate under the direction, control, and management of a Broker or Owner/Developer. You cannot engage in real estate services on your own until you are a licensed Broker.
